Dr. Beyza Çitçi

Dr. Beyza Çitçi is a neurologist at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Neurology unit. Her subspecialty interests are movement disorders treatment and stroke and preventive treatments, and she holds an additional certificate in sleep medicine. Dr. Çitçi has more than 34 years in medicine and speaks Turkish and English.

She studied at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine from 1992 to 1998 and completed her neurology training at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital in 2004. In 2013 she obtained the Sleep Medicine Physician Certificate from the Turkish Sleep Medicine Association, and in 2015 she completed a Vascular Neurology Specialization with the Turkish Cerebrovascular Diseases Association. Her professional experience includes Echomar Göztepe Hospital (2004–2007) and Yeditepe University Department of Neurology (2007–2009); she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2009. Dr. Çitçi is a member of the Turkish Neurology Association, the Turkish Epilepsy Association, the Turkish Medical Association, the World Sleep Society, the Turkish Cerebrovascular Diseases Association and the Turkish Sleep Medicine Association. Her published work includes papers on diffusion-weighted imaging in ischemic stroke, cerebrospinal fluid thyroid autoantibodies in Hashimoto’s encephalopathy, autonomic dysreflexia in multiple sclerosis, electrodiagnostic evaluation in cervical spondylotic myelopathy, and spinal accessory nerve monitoring in posterior fossa surgery.

Clinical focus

Dr. Çitçi evaluates and treats adults with a range of neurological conditions. Her areas of expertise include migraine and other headaches, dizziness, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis. She also sees patients with memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, where assessment aims to clarify the cause of cognitive change and guide ongoing care.

In line with her subspecialty training, Dr. Çitçi provides movement disorder treatment, including care for patients with Parkinson’s disease, and stroke treatment and prevention, drawing on her vascular neurology specialization. Her sleep medicine certificate supports the use of polysomnography (sleep study) when a sleep-related cause is suspected to contribute to a patient’s symptoms. Treatment planning is individualized and depends on the clinical findings in each case.

How Dr. Çitçi works with international patients

Dr. Çitçi consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
