Bülent Özmen, MD

Where an operation is considered appropriate, Dr. Özmen provides orthopedic surgical treatment. The choice between conservative and surgical management depends on the individual injury or condition, the patient’s overall health and their personal circumstances, and these factors are discussed with the patient as part of the planning process. Not every musculoskeletal complaint requires surgery, and the suitability of any procedure is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How Dr. Özmen works with international patients

Dr. Özmen consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. For patients who are unable to travel initially, or who wish to discuss their situation before making arrangements, a video consultation is available. Any recommendation made remotely is provisional and may change once an in-person examination and up-to-date imaging have been completed.
