Canberk Altan’s clinical interests cover a range of conditions affecting the muscles, nerves, joints, and spine. In the musculoskeletal field, he works with patients who have sports injuries and knee injuries, frozen shoulder syndrome, piriformis syndrome, and facet joint syndrome. Spinal complaints form another part of his practice, including lumbar disc herniation, cervical disc herniation, and loss of cervical lordosis. In these cases, his role is to assess function, movement, and pain patterns and to plan a rehabilitation program suited to the individual patient’s situation.

How Canberk Altan works with international patients

Canberk Altan speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes, and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling, although a physical examination is often needed before a rehabilitation plan can be finalized.
