Dr. Yıldırım consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and relevant documents, such as previous psychiatric or psychological evaluations, laboratory results, discharge summaries and, where applicable, imaging reports, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit itself. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing records and previous treatments, a clinical evaluation, and a discussion of the possible options. Video consultation is available for international patients, which can be useful for an initial conversation or for follow-up when travel is not practical. Dr. Yıldırım approaches each consultation with the aim of understanding the patient’s concerns in a respectful and unhurried manner.
