Ceyhun Başoğlu, MD is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation specialist at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul. He then worked as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist at Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital (2015–2016) and at İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital (2016–2019), followed by İstanbul Medical Park Florya Hospital in 2019. In 2020 he served as a Faculty Member at İstanbul Aydın University and, from 2020 to 2021, practiced at Private Ethica İncirli Hospital before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2021. He is a member of the Turkish Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association and the Manual Medicine Association. He has co-authored peer-reviewed studies, including a randomized controlled trial on whole body vibration training in female patients with patellofemoral pain, a double-blind placebo-controlled trial on radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy in lateral epicondylitis, and a study on spinal high-velocity low-amplitude manipulation with exercise in women with chronic temporomandibular disorders.

Clinical focus

Dr. Başoğlu’s clinical work centers on pain treatment and spine health. He evaluates and manages patients with lumbar and cervical disc herniation, frozen shoulder syndrome, myalgia and fibromyalgia. In these conditions, rehabilitation planning typically follows a clinical examination and a review of any existing imaging, with treatment adapted to the individual patient’s symptoms and functional goals.

His practice also includes lymphedema treatment, Parkinson rehabilitation and pelvic floor rehabilitation. These areas often involve longer-term programs in which the specialist monitors progress over time and adjusts the plan as the patient’s condition changes. Through the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Center, he can consider additional approaches where they are appropriate to the clinical picture.

Dr. Başoğlu consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
