Dr. Mutlu’s interests further extend to insect bites and stings. Bee stings can range from a localized reaction to a more widespread response, and emergency assessment aims to identify patients whose symptoms require closer observation. Tick bites are evaluated with attention to the bite site and to any associated symptoms that a patient reports. In each of these situations, the approach is to assess the patient’s current state, address the presenting problem, and discuss what further evaluation or follow-up may be appropriate.

How Dr. Mutlu works with international patients

Dr. Mutlu speaks Turkish and English. For international patients, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the options. Interpreters can be arranged for patients who do not speak Turkish or English. Video consultation is available for international patients, which can be used to discuss a patient’s situation and existing records before or after a visit to Kayseri, within the limits of what can reasonably be assessed at a distance in an emergency-related context.
