Eda Albayrak, MD

Eda Albayrak, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem International Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Pediatrics unit. She subsequently worked as a specialist physician at Rize State Hospital in the Department of Child Health and Diseases (2014–2016) and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Acıbadem University Atakent Hospital (2015–2016), followed by a position at Özel Acıbadem Atakent Hospital from 2016 to 2025. She is a member of Türk Pediatri Kurumu, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the Milli Pediatri Association. Dr. Albayrak has co-authored publications in neonatal medicine, including studies on newborns with critical congenital heart disease, term small-for-gestational-age infants, and case reports of fungal infections in extremely low birth weight premature neonates.

Clinical focus

Dr. Albayrak’s practice covers general child and adolescent health with an emphasis on preventive care. This includes routine preventive child health follow-up, childhood vaccinations, and monitoring of growth and nutrition, including the follow-up of childhood nutritional disorders. She evaluates and treats common childhood conditions such as upper respiratory tract infections, childhood rash illnesses and other infectious diseases, and she assesses iron deficiency and anemia in children.

Newborn care is a further area of her work. She follows newborns in the first weeks of life, interprets newborn screening tests, and evaluates newborn jaundice and infant colic. Where a child’s condition requires input from another specialty, the assessment is coordinated within the hospital’s pediatric and related departments.

How Dr. Albayrak works with international patients

Dr. Albayrak consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the hospital’s international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports, such as growth records, vaccination cards, laboratory results, imaging reports and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing test results and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the possible next steps with the family. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their child’s situation before travelling or to follow up after a visit.
