Prof. Emre Özker, MD

Prof. Emre Özker, MD is a vascular surgeon whose practice centers on varicose vein treatment. He sees patients at Acibadem Maslak Hospital and Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul. He is a member of the Turkish Wound Care Association, the European Vascular Surgery Association, the Turkish Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Association, the Turkish Cardiovascular Surgery Association, the Türk Fleboloji Association and the European Wound Care Association. His published work includes articles on coronary artery bypass grafting, congenital heart surgery, lower extremity revascularization and wound-related diagnoses.

Clinical focus

The core of Dr. Özker’s clinical work is the assessment and treatment of varicose veins and other venous conditions within the field of phlebology. His expertise extends to vascular surgery and endovascular surgery, in which vascular problems are approached through minimally invasive, catheter-based techniques where appropriate. The choice between conservative measures, endovascular treatment and open surgery depends on the individual findings and is discussed with each patient after examination.

Wound care is a further area of his practice, including the evaluation of chronic wounds in which an underlying vascular cause may need to be identified and addressed. His background in cardiovascular surgery informs his approach to circulatory conditions more broadly. How Dr. Özker works with international patients
