Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrullah Hayta

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrullah Hayta is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation specialist at Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2018, where he continues to practice, and in 2019 he completed further education in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Acıbadem University. He is a member of the Turkish Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association, TRASD, the Kinezyoterapi Association, the Türkiye Osteoporoz Association, the Manual Medicine Association, and the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation working group. His published work includes articles on the pathophysiology of acute spinal cord injury, serum IGF-1 and obstructive sleep apnea in fibromyalgia patients, the 6-minute walk test in cardiac rehabilitation after coronary artery bypass graft surgery, extracorporeal shock-wave therapy for calcaneal spur, a randomized comparison of trigger point dry needling and kinesio taping in myofascial pain syndrome, homocysteine and carotid intima-media thickness in rheumatoid arthritis, blood pressure during balneotherapy in osteoarthritis patients with hypertension, and diagnosis and evaluation methods in neuropathic pain.

Clinical focus

Dr. Hayta’s clinical work centers on spine health and on rehabilitation-based pain management. He uses manual medicine and manual therapy as part of his approach, alongside other physical medicine methods, and assesses how pain and spinal problems affect a patient’s daily function. Treatment plans are built around the individual examination findings and the patient’s history rather than a single fixed protocol.

A further area of his practice is chronic muscle pain, including fibromyalgia, myalgia and muscle rheumatism. For these conditions, evaluation typically involves a careful review of symptoms, previous investigations and earlier treatments before any rehabilitation or pain management plan is discussed. How Dr. Hayta works with international patients

Dr. Hayta consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. The hospital’s international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, arranges appointments and organises the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before or instead of traveling, although a physical examination may still be needed to complete the assessment.
