Dr. Ercan Biçakci

Dr. Ercan Biçakci is a gastroenterologist at Acibadem Bursa Hospital in Bursa, where he works within the Gastroenterology unit. With more than 20 years in medicine, his practice centers on digestive, liver and pancreatic conditions and on diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Biçakci graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He completed his Internal Medicine training at İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and his Gastroenterology training at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2014. He then worked at Zonguldak Atatürk Devlet Hospital from 2014 to 2016 and at Çanakkale Devlet Hospital from 2016 to 2019. In 2019 he held a position at Bursa Medicana Hospital and joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in the same year. He has co-authored peer-reviewed publications on topics including inflammatory bowel disease and its psychiatric and quality-of-life aspects, biological agents in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, gastric wall lesions suggestive of gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and peptic ulcer perforation.

Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Biçakci’s work involves endoscopic evaluation of the digestive tract. He performs endoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy, esophagoscopy for the assessment of the esophagus, and ERCP for the investigation and management of biliary and pancreatic conditions. These procedures are used to clarify symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, upper abdominal discomfort and dyspepsia, and to examine the lining of the stomach and bowel when disease is suspected or when follow-up is needed.

Dr. Biçakci also assesses and manages patients with inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. His practice further extends to liver diseases and pancreatic diseases, where evaluation typically combines clinical history, laboratory results, imaging and, where appropriate, endoscopic findings. How Dr. Biçakci works with international patients

Dr. Biçakci consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
