Erdoğan Süleyman, MD

Erdoğan Süleyman, MD is a radiologist at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Radiology unit. Clinical focus

Dr. Süleyman’s clinical work centers on cross-sectional and ultrasound-based diagnostic imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging is used to visualize soft tissues and organs and may be requested to clarify findings from other examinations. Computed tomography provides detailed cross-sectional images and is often used when a rapid or highly detailed assessment of a body region is needed. Ultrasound imaging is a real-time examination that is commonly used for the abdomen, pelvis, soft tissues and blood vessels. The choice of examination depends on the clinical question raised by the referring physician and on the patient’s individual circumstances.

Multidetector CT colonography, also called virtual colonoscopy, uses CT data to create images of the large bowel. It may be considered as an imaging-based option in selected patients, for example when a complete endoscopic examination is not possible or not preferred. Whether it is suitable is decided on a case-by-case basis, and any findings that require tissue sampling or treatment will still need to be followed up by the appropriate clinical team. Dr. Süleyman’s published work on virtual MR cystoscopy and MR urethroscopy reflects a related interest in noninvasive imaging approaches to the urinary tract.

How Dr. Süleyman works with international patients

Dr. Süleyman consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit.
