Prof. Ertuğrul Seyrek, MD

Prof. Ertuğrul Seyrek, MD is an Internal Medicine specialist at Acibadem Adana Hospital in Adana, where he works in the Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology units. Dr. Seyrek graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1983. At the same institution he completed his training in Internal Medicine in 1990 and in Medical Oncology in 1994, was appointed Assistant Associate Professor in 1990 and became Associate Professor in 1996. Between 1983 and 1986 he worked at Bitlis No. 1 Health Center as Head of the Malaria Control Region and Provincial Coordinator of the World Health Organization Accelerated Immunization Campaign. From 1995 to 1996 he was at the United States of America Southern California University Kenneth Norris Cancer Research and Treatment Center. He was Head of the Oncology Clinic at Adana Regional Hospital from 1998 to 2001 and then joined Mersin University Faculty of Medicine as a Faculty Member in 2001, serving as Department Head of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology from 2002 to 2003 and as a Faculty Member in the Department of Internal Medicine from 2003 to 2009. In 2009 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. He is a member of the Medical Oncology Association, the Turkish Cancer Control and Research Institution and the Anatolian Medical Oncology Association.

Clinical focus

Dr. Seyrek evaluates and treats a broad range of cancers within medical oncology. His areas of expertise include breast cancer, lung and thoracic cancers, colorectal cancer and other gastrointestinal cancers, liver cancer, and kidney and adrenal cancer. He also sees patients with oral cancer and head and neck cancers, as well as brain tumors.

In hematologic and soft-tissue oncology, his work covers lymphoma and sarcomas. He also has expertise in cellular therapies. The suitability of any treatment depends on the individual diagnosis, stage and general health, and is determined after clinical assessment and review of the relevant test results.

How Dr. Seyrek works with international patients

Dr. Seyrek consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
