Esen Canbaz, MD

How Dr. Canbaz works with international patients

Dr. Canbaz consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as previous eye examination reports, laboratory results, operative notes and discharge summaries, arranges appointments and organizes the visit to the clinic. A first consultation with Dr. Canbaz typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing records and previous treatments, a clinical examination of the eyes and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is also available for international patients, which may be used for an initial discussion or for questions arising from earlier reports, although an in-person examination is generally needed before a treatment decision can be made. Any recommendations are based on the individual findings and are discussed with the patient in a way that allows time for questions.
