Dr. Çelik carries out this work as part of the emergency service team, in coordination with the other departments of the hospital.

For international patients, the emergency service is most often relevant in two situations: when an acute problem arises while a patient is in Turkey, and when a patient who is already under treatment for another condition develops new symptoms that need to be assessed without delay. In both cases, the emergency physician’s role is to evaluate the presenting complaint, provide immediate care where it is necessary and make sure that the patient is directed to the appropriate specialist. Emergency care is, by its nature, not planned in advance, so the information a patient can provide about existing diagnoses, current medications and previous treatments is helpful in guiding the initial assessment.

How Dr. Çelik works with international patients
