Giray Girgin, MD

Giray Girgin, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Kartal Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Pediatrics unit. In 2023 he worked as a specialist in Child Health and Diseases at Yalova Altınova District State Hospital before moving to his current position.

Clinical focus

Dr. Girgin's clinical work covers child and adolescent health across age groups. A large part of his practice is dedicated to newborn follow-up, including the assessment and monitoring of newborn jaundice, infant colic, and the care of newborns affected by hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy or bronchopulmonary dysplasia, which may require structured follow-up after the neonatal period. He also provides well-child care, tracking growth and development over time and evaluating children with possible child developmental disorders.

In general pediatrics, Dr. Girgin sees children with croup and other upper respiratory tract infections, constipation, and iron deficiency and anemia. Depending on the child's age and presentation, assessment may include a review of the history, a physical examination, and laboratory testing where indicated, followed by a discussion of follow-up or treatment options with the family.

How Dr. Girgin works with international patients

Dr. Girgin consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
