Gültekin Barut, MD

Gültekin Barut, MD is an Internal Medicine specialist practicing at Acibadem Bahçeşehir Outpatient Clinic in İstanbul. He completed his Internal Medicine specialty training at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine between 1997 and 2002. He subsequently worked at Acıbadem Bakırköy Hospital, first as Internal Medicine night staff (2002–2003) and then as an Internal Medicine Specialist and staff physician (2003–2011), followed by a period in Bursa as an Internal Medicine Specialist and Check-Up Responsible Physician (2011–2012). He later held Internal Medicine Specialist positions at Medicana International İstanbul Hospital (2013), Halkalı Atakent Acıbadem University Hospital (2014–2020) and Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health Beylikdüzü State Hospital (from 2020), before joining his current position in 2024. His co-authored publications and congress presentations have addressed hepatitis C risk factors, iron overload and hemochromatosis, mitomycin C-induced microangiopathic hemolytic anemia and the prevalence of fatty liver disease in Istanbul.

Dr. Barut’s clinical practice covers endocrine, metabolic, digestive and general internal medicine conditions. His subspecialty interest is thyroid diseases and their treatment.
