Hamdi Tüfekçi, MD

Hamdi Tüfekçi, MD is an anesthesiology specialist at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Anesthesiology & Reanimation unit. He has more than 26 years in medicine. Between 2007 and 2011 Dr. Tüfekçi completed his residency at the GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation in İstanbul, and in 2011 he completed his specialization at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation. He then worked as a Specialist Physician at the Girne Military Hospital Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation in KKTC (2011–2014) and returned to the GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation as a Specialist Physician (2014–2016). In 2016 he joined the Health Sciences University, Sultan 2.Abdulhamit Han Training and Research Hospital, Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, İstanbul. In 2018 he moved to Acıbadem Healthcare Services, working as a Specialist Physician (On Call) at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital. From 2020 to 2021 he also held a part-time, temporary lecturer position at the Kent University Vocational School of Health Services. He is a member of the Turkish Anesthesiology and Reanimation Association.

Clinical focus

Dr. Tüfekçi’s clinical work covers anesthesiology and reanimation. His areas of expertise include perioperative anesthesia care, which involves supporting patients before, during, and after procedures that require anesthesia, and pre-anesthesia assessment, in which a patient’s medical history, current medications, and existing conditions are reviewed to plan the anesthetic approach for a scheduled procedure.

Within reanimation, his role relates to the monitoring and support of patients during and after anesthesia. The specific type of anesthesia and the extent of perioperative monitoring are decided on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the planned procedure and the individual patient’s condition.
