Hüseyin Semih Yalçın, MD

Hüseyin Semih Yalçın, MD is an Emergency Service physician at Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul. From 2021 to 2022 he served as a Medical Reserve Officer with the Ministry of National Defense in the Northern Iraq operational area. Between 2022 and 2024 he practiced as an Emergency Department Physician at İstinye University Bahçeşehir Liv Hospital in İstanbul. In 2025 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services.

Clinical focus

Dr. Yalçın’s areas of expertise reflect the range of situations seen in an emergency department. He evaluates and manages patients with trauma, from isolated injuries to more complex presentations that require structured initial assessment, stabilization and, where needed, referral to other specialties. A further area of his practice is environmental emergencies, a group of conditions caused by exposure to external factors. Within this group he manages bee stings and tick bites, which may range from local reactions to systemic responses that need monitoring, as well as drowning and its consequences.

He also treats acute hypoxia, in which the body’s oxygen supply is suddenly reduced, and airway obstruction, in which breathing is impaired by a blockage of the upper or lower airway. Both conditions are time-sensitive and are approached with prompt evaluation, securing of oxygenation and the airway, and identification of the underlying cause so that appropriate treatment can follow.

How Dr. Yalçın works with international patients

Dr. Yalçın consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior medical documentation before the visit, including imaging reports such as CT, MRI, X-ray or ultrasound, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit itself. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of any existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation with Dr. Yalçın before or instead of traveling, where this is clinically appropriate.
