İlkay Değerli, MD

İlkay Değerli, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Pediatrics unit. Dr. Değerli’s areas of expertise center on pediatric infectious diseases and upper respiratory tract illnesses in children. These include croup, scarlet fever, measles and chickenpox. Her approach involves clinical evaluation of the child, consideration of the history and course of symptoms, and follow-up as the illness evolves.

A second area of her practice concerns nutrition and blood counts in childhood. Dr. Değerli evaluates and follows children with iron deficiency and anemia, and monitors pediatric nutritional disorders over time. How Dr. Değerli works with international patients

Dr. Değerli consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as laboratory results, growth records, discharge summaries and any ultrasound or X-ray reports, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing test results and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the possible options and the follow-up that may be appropriate. For families who are not yet able to travel, video consultation is available for international patients, which can be used to review a child’s situation and existing reports before deciding on next steps.
