Assoc. Prof. İzgi Alnıak, MD

Assoc. Prof. İzgi Alnıak, MD is a psychiatrist in the Psychiatry & Psychology unit at Acibadem Bakirkoy Hospital in İstanbul. Dr. Alnıak graduated from Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine in 2007 and worked as a general practitioner at İstanbul Kağıthane Hürriyet Health Center from 2007 to 2008. She then completed her psychiatry residency between 2008 and 2014 at Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital, finishing her specialty training in Mental Health and Diseases in 2014 at Ord. Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Diseases Training and Research Hospital. From 2014 to 2022 she served as a psychiatry specialist at the AMATEM CLINIC of Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital, and from 2022 to 2025 she continued there as an associate professor of psychiatry. In 2025 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services and also maintains a private practice. She is a member of the TURKISH PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION, the ADDICTION PSYCHIATRY ASSOCIATION and the İSTANBUL MEDICAL CHAMBER.

Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Alnıak’s practice is addiction psychiatry, including addiction treatment, substance dependence and smoking cessation, reflecting her years at the AMATEM CLINIC. She also assesses and treats a range of mood and anxiety conditions, including anxiety disorders, panic disorder, social phobia and specific phobias, as well as major depression and bipolar disorder.

Her areas of expertise further include atypical psychosis and personality disorders, notably borderline personality disorder and dependent personality disorder.
