Mehpare Yener, DDS

Mehpare Yener, DDS is a dentist in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul. Clinical focus

Dr. Yener’s practice covers the preventive, restorative and urgent dental needs of children. Preventive care includes fluoride application and fissure sealants, which are used to help protect teeth at risk of decay, and space maintainers, which are used to preserve space for developing permanent teeth after a primary tooth is lost early. Restorative treatment includes dental fillings for teeth affected by decay and aesthetic pediatric dentistry for concerns about the appearance of a child’s teeth. When a tooth cannot be preserved, tooth extraction is performed.

A further part of her work concerns dental root infection and disease of the dental pulp. She performs root canal treatment on primary teeth as well as on permanent teeth, and she manages dental trauma, including injuries to the teeth of children. In selected cases, dental treatment under general anesthesia may be considered after assessment. Each treatment plan is based on a clinical examination and, where needed, dental imaging, and the options are discussed with the family before any treatment begins.

How Dr. Yener works with international patients

Dr. Yener consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as X-ray reports, laboratory results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options.
