He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology, the Turkish Cardiology Association and the American College of Cardiology. His published work includes studies on the predictors of reversibility in high-grade atrioventricular block, coronary artery disease in renal transplant patients, cardiac implantable electrical devices, the relationship between coronary artery ectasia and blood cell and lipid ratios, extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation in acute myocardial infarction arrest, and a case report on spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage during oral anticoagulation treatment.

Clinical focus

Dr. Altın’s clinical work covers a range of cardiovascular conditions. In coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis, his focus is on evaluating symptoms and risk factors and planning further management with the patient. He also assesses and follows patients with heart failure, where treatment decisions depend on the underlying cause, the stage of the condition and the patient’s overall health.

A further area of his practice is heart valve disease, including mitral regurgitation, aortic stenosis and the evaluation of heart murmurs. He sees patients with arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, and with structural heart conditions such as atrial septal defect. In each case the aim is to establish a clear diagnosis, discuss what the findings mean and outline the options that may be considered, while noting that the suitability of any approach can only be judged after an individual assessment.

How Dr. Altın works with international patients

Dr. Altın consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
