Metin Bayramoğlu, MD is an emergency medicine physician at Acibadem Adana Orthopedia Hospital in Adana. Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Bayramoğlu’s work is trauma care. Patients who arrive after falls, road traffic accidents, sports injuries or other accidents are assessed for the extent and urgency of their injuries. The initial evaluation aims to identify conditions that need immediate attention, to stabilize the patient and to decide which further investigations or specialist input are required. Within an orthopedic hospital setting, this often involves close coordination with colleagues from other departments when injuries to bones, joints or soft tissues are suspected.

Dr. Bayramoğlu also has a particular interest in environmental emergencies. These include drowning and near-drowning events, acute hypoxia (a sudden shortage of oxygen reaching the body’s tissues) and airway obstruction, all of which require prompt recognition and support of breathing and circulation. He additionally manages reactions to bee stings, which can range from local swelling to more severe systemic responses, and tick bites, where the emergency assessment covers removal of the tick, wound care and advice on symptoms that should prompt further review. In each of these situations, care is guided by the patient’s immediate clinical condition and by the findings of the emergency examination.

How Dr. Bayramoğlu works with international patients

Dr. Bayramoğlu consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. For international patients, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as X-ray, CT, MRI or ultrasound reports, laboratory results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of any existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. In the emergency setting, this evaluation is focused on the acute presentation and on what is needed at that moment. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation with Dr. Bayramoğlu before or after a hospital visit, with the understanding that acute emergencies require in-person assessment.
