Assoc. Prof. Murat Yıldar, MD

Assoc. Prof. Murat Yıldar, MD is a general surgeon who practices at the Liver Transplant Center of Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, within the Organ Transplantation unit. He then worked at Özel Medicalpark Silivri Hospital (2016–2017) and Özel Bahat Hospital (2017–2021) before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2021. He is an author or co-author of peer-reviewed publications, including experimental studies on ischemia-reperfusion injury of the kidney and liver and on acute pancreatitis, a prospective randomized trial on colonoscopy in patients with constipation, a review of the timing of MRCP and ERCP in biliary pancreatitis, and comparative studies of flap techniques for pilonidal sinus disease.

Clinical focus

Dr. Yıldar’s clinical work centers on surgical conditions of the liver, pancreas and biliary tract. He evaluates and treats patients with liver diseases, pancreatic diseases and biliary tract diseases, including cholecystitis. Within oncological surgery, his areas of expertise include liver cancer, gallbladder cancer and bile duct cancer. Surgical treatment in these areas is planned on an individual basis after review of imaging, laboratory results and any previous treatment, and options are discussed with the patient in light of the findings.

His practice also covers endocrine surgery, including thyroid surgery, as well as general surgical conditions such as inguinal hernia and anorectal conditions. His background in organ transplantation, including a kidney transplantation fellowship and the establishment of a transplantation center, informs his approach to complex liver and biliary cases seen within the Liver Transplant Center.

How Dr. Yıldar works with international patients

Dr. Yıldar consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged when needed.
