Murat Yilmaz, MD

Murat Yilmaz, MD is a dermatology specialist with more than 12 years in medicine. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2009 and completed his specialty training in Skin and Venereal Diseases at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital in 2015. During this period he also spent time abroad, at the Dermatopathology Department of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, in 2014 and at the Dermatopathology Department of Yale University New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, in 2015.

After completing his specialty training, Dr. Yilmaz worked at Sivas Numune Hospital from 2015 to 2017 and joined Acibadem Health Group in 2017, where he practices in the Dermatology unit. Alongside his medical education, he completed a Theater Master’s Degree at Haliç University, Institute of Social Sciences, in 2015 and studied Diction, Acting, and On-Camera Acting at Baskent Academy Communication Sciences between 2012 and 2014. He is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, the Turkish Dermatology Association, and the European Academy of Dermatolgy and Venerolgy.

Clinical focus

Dr. Yilmaz’s listed areas of expertise cover a range of inflammatory, infectious, and immune-mediated skin conditions. These include Behçet’s disease, a systemic inflammatory disorder that can involve the skin and mucous membranes; bullous pemphigoid, an autoimmune blistering disease; and herpes zoster infection. He also lists two severe cutaneous drug reactions, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), which can present with overlapping features and call for careful clinical assessment.
