Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Bilal Tuna, MD is a urologist at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Urology unit. A central part of his practice is the diagnosis and treatment of prostate diseases, including prostate cancer. Where appropriate, he performs robotic surgery. He has co-authored publications on robot-assisted partial nephrectomy, robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, radical nephroureterectomy using the Da Vinci Xi robotic system, the use of multiparametric prostate MRI and 68Ga-PSMA PET-CT in prostate cancer evaluation, and laboratory studies in bladder cancer. Whether robotic, laparoscopic, or open surgery, or a non-surgical approach, is suitable depends on the individual patient’s diagnosis, imaging findings, and overall health, and this is discussed with the patient during consultation.

How Dr. Tuna works with international patients

Dr. Tuna consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The international patient team coordinates the collection of prior medical reports and imaging, arranges appointments, and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the available options. For patients who are unable to travel before deciding on treatment, a video consultation can be arranged so that existing reports and imaging can be reviewed and the possible next steps can be discussed in advance.
