Dr. Tunçay reports these studies and, where relevant, discusses the imaging findings with the referring clinician so that they can be considered together with the patient’s history, symptoms and any earlier investigations. Whether CT colonography is appropriate for a particular patient, and how the findings are followed up, is decided on an individual basis by the treating team.

Dr. Tunçay also has a clinical interest in breast diseases. In this area, her role is to assess breast imaging and to describe the findings in a structured report that supports further clinical decision-making. Imaging is one element of a broader assessment, and its interpretation depends on the clinical context provided by the referring physician and on any previous imaging that is available for comparison. For this reason, prior breast imaging and reports are helpful when a case is reviewed.

How Dr. Tunçay works with international patients

Dr. Tunçay speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination where relevant, and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients, which may be used to review existing imaging and discuss whether a further examination in Kayseri would be appropriate. The scope of any imaging performed, and the interpretation of its findings, is determined case by case and communicated to the patient and the referring clinician in a clear written report.
