Ömer Kayakıran, MD

Within this area, his interests include bee stings and tick bites, which can range from limited local reactions to situations that require closer observation, and drowning, where the initial evaluation focuses on breathing and oxygenation. Closely related are acute hypoxia, in which the body’s tissues do not receive enough oxygen, and airway obstruction, in which the passage of air to the lungs is partly or fully blocked. In each of these situations, the emergency assessment is directed at recognizing the problem early, supporting the patient’s breathing and circulation as needed, and deciding on the appropriate next steps in care. The approach taken depends on the individual patient’s presentation, history and clinical findings.

How Dr. Kayakıran works with international patients

Dr. Kayakıran consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
