Ömercan Yağız Öksüz, MD

Ömercan Yağız Öksüz, MD is an Aesthetic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery specialist working in the Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery unit at Acibadem Kartal Hospital in İstanbul. From 2016 to 2021 he was a resident physician at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital – Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, and in 2021 he completed his Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery training at Health Sciences University Ankara City Hospital. He subsequently worked as a specialist physician at Muş State Hospital during compulsory service from 2021 to 2023, at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital in İstanbul in 2023, and at VM Medical Park Pendik Hospital in İstanbul from 2023 to 2025. In 2024 he was also affiliated with Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine in İstanbul. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2025.

Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Öksüz’s practice is dedicated to hand surgery. He assesses and treats hand injuries, wrist ligament injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, mallet finger, and Dupuytren’s contracture. He also treats congenital hand differences such as polydactyly and syndactyly. Each case is evaluated individually, and the choice between conservative and surgical management depends on the type of injury or condition, the findings on clinical examination, and any existing imaging.

His reconstructive work includes microsurgery and advanced limb reconstruction, as well as burn treatment and wound care. In addition, his practice covers aesthetic surgical procedures and cosmetic dermatology applications. In all of these areas, treatment planning takes into account the patient’s history, previous treatments, and overall condition, and the possible options are discussed with the patient before any decision is made.

How Dr. Öksüz works with international patients

Dr. Öksüz consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
