Özden Çamurdan, MD

Özden Çamurdan, MD is a radiologist at Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Radiology unit. In 2010 she worked at Baltalimanı Bone Diseases Hospital, and in 2012 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services, where she has practiced since.

Dr. Çamurdan’s work centers on diagnostic imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to examine soft tissues, joints, the brain and spine, and abdominal and pelvic organs without ionizing radiation. Computed tomography (CT) provides cross-sectional images that can help assess the chest, abdomen, bones and blood vessels, and it is often used when a rapid or detailed anatomical overview is needed. Ultrasonographic imaging is a real-time, radiation-free method commonly applied to the abdomen, thyroid, breast, soft tissues and blood vessels, and it may also be used to guide certain procedures.

In everyday practice, a radiologist reviews the clinical question submitted by the referring physician, selects and supervises the appropriate imaging protocol, interprets the images and prepares a written report that becomes part of the patient’s overall assessment. How Dr. Çamurdan works with international patients

Dr. Çamurdan speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, including earlier MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
