Özgür Canoler, MD

Özgür Canoler, MD is an anesthesiologist in the Anesthesiology & Reanimation unit at Acibadem Ankara Hospital in Ankara. Dr. Canoler’s clinical work centers on intensive care treatment, advanced life support and palliative care. In the intensive care setting, this involves the monitoring and support of patients whose condition requires close observation and organ-supporting treatment. Advanced life support covers the structured management of patients in life-threatening situations. His palliative care work, which builds on his years in the Pain and Palliative Care Service and the Pain Unit, is directed at the relief of symptoms and the comfort of patients with serious illness.

His background also includes clinical nutrition, reflected in his time in the Nutrition Unit and his membership in the Clinical Enteral Parenteral Nutrition Association (KEPAN) and The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN). Dr. Canoler has co-authored publications on regional anesthesia and postoperative pain management, including studies on continuous femoral analgesia and sciatic nerve block in total knee arthroplasty, lumbar plexus approaches for patient-controlled analgesia after total knee replacement, psoas compartment block in total hip arthroplasty, continuous spinal anesthesia and analgesia in high-risk patients undergoing abdominal surgery, and epidural ropivacaine or sufentanil-ropivacaine infusions for post-thoracotomy pain. He is a member of the Association of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Specialists (ARUD), the Turkish Association of Anesthesiology and Reanimation (TARD) and the Ankara Oncology Hospital Foundation.

How Dr. Canoler works with international patients
