Özgür Yaşar, MD

Özgür Yaşar, MD is an Internal Medicine specialist at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul. Dr. Yaşar’s main subspecialty interest is thyroid diseases and treatment. Within endocrinology and metabolism, he also evaluates and manages patients with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, diabetes insipidus and obesity. These conditions are typically assessed through a combination of history, physical examination and review of laboratory results, with treatment decisions made on an individual basis.

His practice also covers general internal medicine conditions, including anemia, edema and upper respiratory tract diseases, as well as digestive disorders such as gastritis, gastroenteritis and fatty liver disease. Where a condition falls outside the scope of internal medicine or requires additional specialist input, referral to the relevant department can be discussed as part of the assessment.

How Dr. Yaşar works with international patients

Dr. Yaşar speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who prefer another language. The international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example ultrasound, MRI, CT or X-ray reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
