Prof. Dr. Saime Paydaş

Prof. Dr. Saime Paydaş is an Internal Medicine physician at Acibadem Adana Hospital in Adana. Her clinical practice centers on internal medicine and nephrology, with a particular interest in kidney diseases, kidney failure and the care of patients on dialysis. She has more than 46 years in medicine, most of them spent in combined academic and clinical work at a university faculty of medicine.

Dr. Paydaş graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. She completed her Internal Medicine training at the same faculty in 1985 and her Nephrology training there in 1993. Her professional experience began at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine between 1980 and 1985, followed by a period at Bilecik Devlet Hospital from 1985 to 1987. She then returned to Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, where she worked from 1987 until 2022. In 2022 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services and now sees patients in the Internal Medicine unit in Adana.

Dr. Paydaş’s areas of expertise include kidney diseases and kidney failure. She evaluates and follows patients with diabetic nephropathy, nephrotic syndrome and hydronephrosis. Because kidney conditions often develop alongside other medical problems, her background in internal medicine allows the kidney to be assessed in the context of the patient’s overall health, including coexisting conditions and current medication.

For patients whose kidney function has declined to the point where replacement of kidney function is needed, her practice includes hemodialysis. Dr. Paydaş speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as ultrasound, CT or MRI reports, laboratory and pathology results, dialysis records, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges the appointment and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the possible options.
