Semih Yazla, MD

Semih Yazla, MD is a specialist in otorhinolaryngology who practices in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit at Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul. Dr. Yazla graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and also completed studies at Comenius University Bratislava in the same year. After a period as a general practitioner at Ordu Ünye and Çamaş Community Health Center (2010–2011), he trained as a resident physician in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital from 2011 to 2015, completing his specialty training there in 2016. He then served as a specialist physician at Şırnak Devlet Hospital & Şırnak Asker Hospital (2016–2018), followed by positions at Uşak Training and Research Hospital (2018), SBÜ, Gaziosmanpaşa Taksim Training and Research Hospital (2018–2021) and SBÜ, Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital (2021–2025). He became a Fellow of EBE-ORL in 2017 and, in 2026, a Fellow Phoniatrician through The European Board Examination in Phoniatrics (E.B.E. Phoniatrics). His additional training includes a Polysomnography Certificate (2018), the KBB-BBC Association Schools Laryngology-Phoniatrics School (2019), the KBB-BBC Schools Allergy Rhinology Sleep School (2021), a Turkish Sign Language Training Certificate (2019) and a Flight Medicine Certificate (2024). He is a Founding Board Member of the Phoniatrics Association and a member of the Turkish Ear Nose and Throat Head and Neck Surgery Association, Profesyonel Ses Association, Head and Neck Surgery Association and Istanbul ENT Specialists Association.

Clinical focus

Dr. Yazla evaluates and treats patients with hoarseness and other voice complaints, swallowing difficulties and salivary gland diseases, areas that connect closely with his training in laryngology and phoniatrics. He also sees patients with dizziness and with smell and taste disorders, where a careful history and clinical examination help clarify whether the symptoms originate in the ear, nose or throat or call for assessment by other specialties.

In rhinology and sleep-related breathing, his practice includes snoring, adenoid conditions and septoplasty, the surgical correction of a deviated nasal septum. His polysomnography certification supports the assessment of patients whose snoring may be linked to breathing problems during sleep. Treatment recommendations are made after individual evaluation, and not every patient will be a candidate for surgery.

How Dr. Yazla works with international patients

Dr. Yazla consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as CT or MRI reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Video consultations are available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling.
