This includes drowning and near-drowning incidents, in which the priority is restoring adequate oxygenation and monitoring for delayed complications. Closely related are acute hypoxia, a sudden shortage of oxygen reaching the tissues, and airway obstruction, where the passage of air into the lungs is partially or completely blocked. In each of these situations, rapid recognition together with airway and breathing support is central to emergency management, and Dr. Tekçe’s role is to provide that first response and to determine whether further hospital-level care is required.

How Dr. Tekçe works with international patients

Dr. Tekçe consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as X-ray, CT, MRI or ultrasound reports, laboratory results, operative notes and discharge summaries, arranges appointments and organizes the visit to the clinic. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of any existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Because emergency conditions by their nature require in-person assessment, this structure applies mainly to non-urgent follow-up or to reviewing a completed episode of care.
