Serpil Terzioğlu, DDS

Serpil Terzioğlu, DDS is a dentist practicing in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem Kozyatagi Hospital in İstanbul. Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Terzioğlu’s practice is devoted to endodontics, the branch of dentistry concerned with the dental pulp and the tissues around the root of the tooth. She assesses patients with dental pain and root canal infection and performs root canal treatment where indicated. She also undertakes root canal retreatment for teeth in which a previous root canal procedure has not resolved the problem or in which infection has recurred. Internal bleaching of root canal-treated teeth is another procedure within her scope; it is used to address discoloration that can develop in a tooth after root canal treatment.

Dr. Terzioğlu also manages cracked tooth syndrome, a condition in which an incomplete crack in a tooth causes pain, particularly on biting, and can be difficult to identify on routine examination. She treats tooth fractures and enamel loss, restoring the affected teeth with dental fillings or with porcelain inlays and onlays, depending on the extent of the damage. Digital CAD/CAM dentistry is used in her practice in the design and production of these restorations. The choice of approach is discussed with each patient after a clinical examination and a review of any available radiographs.

How Dr. Terzioğlu works with international patients

Dr. Terzioğlu consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as dental X-rays, previous treatment records and any relevant laboratory results, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
