Prof. Dr. S.Tolga Aydoğ

Prof. Dr. S. Tolga Aydoğ is a specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul, where he works within the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation unit with a subspecialty focus on Spinal Health. Dr. Aydoğ attended Ankara Fen High School (1983) and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He completed his specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ankara Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital in 1993, and went on to earn a PhD in Sports Medicine at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Sports Medicine (1998–2002). In 2005 he became Associate Professor at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Sports Medicine. His professional path includes positions at Eskişehir Hava Hospital (1994–1995), Kırıkkale Devlet Hospital (1995–1996), the Sports Education and Health Research Center (1996–1999) and Bayındır Hospital (1999–2001), followed by the Hacettepe University Department of Sports Medicine (2002–2008). From 2006 to 2007 he worked as a researcher at the Florida University Institute of Orthopedic Sports Medicine with a TÜBİTAK scholarship. He was at Anadolu Health Center from 2008 to 2010 and joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2010. He is a member of the Turkish Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialists, the Turkish Medical Rehabilitation Institution Association, the Türkiye Spor Hekimleri Association, the European Collage of Sports Medicine and the American Collage of Sports Medicine, and he has co-authored peer-reviewed publications on topics including cervical spine alignment, fibromyalgia in sport professionals, muscle injuries in athletes and rehabilitation after total hip arthroplasty.

Clinical focus

Dr. Aydoğ’s clinical work centers on sports injuries and sports traumatology, including knee injuries and other joint injuries. Within spine health, he evaluates and manages neck, back and low back pain, disc herniations, lumbar hypolordosis and cervical straightening, with rehabilitation planning tailored to the patient’s symptoms and functional goals.

He also sees patients with chronic muscle pain, fibromyalgia and restless legs syndrome, and provides lymphedema treatment. As a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, his approach focuses on non-surgical assessment, rehabilitation and the restoration of mobility and function, and each plan is based on the individual clinical picture.

How Dr. Aydoğ works with international patients

Dr. Aydoğ consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
