Assoc. Prof. Tunç Özdemir, MD

Assoc. Prof. Tunç Özdemir, MD is a pediatric surgeon who practices in the Pediatric Surgery unit at Acibadem Kent Hospital (Izmir) in İzmir and at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital in Muğla. He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1994 and completed his specialty training in Pediatric Surgery at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. He has more than 32 years in medicine, and his subspecialty focus is Digestive System Diseases and Surgery in children.

After completing his training, Dr. Özdemir worked as a specialist physician at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine Oncology Institute from 1999 to 2000, followed by a position at S.B. Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, Pediatric Surgery Clinic from 2000 to 2003. Between 2003 and 2004 he served at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Pediatric Surgery Clinic as a reserve officer and specialist physician. He then returned to S.B. Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, Pediatric Surgery Clinic, where he held positions as specialist physician (2004–2010), chief assistant (2010–2015) and associate professor doctor (2014–2017). From 2017 to 2020 he was a lecturer at Health Sciences University İzmir Tepecik SUAM Pediatric Surgery Clinic, and in 2023 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. He is a member of the Pediatrik Toraks Association, the Pediatric Urology Association and the Turkish Pediatric Surgery Association.

Dr. Özdemir’s clinical work covers a range of surgical conditions seen in infants and children.
