Dr. Zeynel Sütoluk

Dr. Zeynel Sütoluk is an Emergency Service physician at Acibadem Adana Orthopedia Hospital in Adana, Turkey. He has more than 34 years in medicine, with a professional background that combines primary healthcare, public health and emergency medicine. He graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1992 and later completed training in Public Health at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2004.

His career began in primary care. From 1993 to 1994 he worked at Karlıova / Bingöl Health Center, and from 1994 to 1999 at Karataş / Adana Health Center. Between 1999 and 2004 he served as a Research Assistant in the Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine Department of Public Health, and from 2004 to 2008 he continued there as a Specialist Physician. From 2008 to 2010 he worked as an Emergency Physician at Odak Medical Center. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2020, where he practises in the Emergency Service.

Clinical focus

Dr. Sütoluk’s clinical work centres on the assessment and initial management of patients presenting to the Emergency Service. His areas of expertise include trauma, where prompt evaluation of injuries and the patient’s overall condition guides the next steps in care. He also deals with environmental and respiratory emergencies, including drowning, acute hypoxia and airway obstruction, situations in which timely recognition and stabilisation are central to emergency care.

In addition, his expertise covers common envenomation and bite presentations, in particular bee stings and tick bites. These presentations range from mild local reactions to more significant systemic responses, and emergency evaluation focuses on identifying the severity of the reaction and determining the appropriate course of management. As an Emergency Service physician, his role is to evaluate the patient’s presentation, stabilise where necessary and coordinate onward care with other departments when this is required.

How Dr. Sütoluk works with international patients

Dr. Sütoluk consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as X-ray, CT, MRI or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and also arranges appointments and organises the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients, which can be helpful for an initial review of a case or for follow-up discussion where an in-person visit is not immediately possible. Emergency presentations, by their nature, are assessed on arrival at the Emergency Service, and the scope of any further care is determined after clinical evaluation.
