Zeynep Acar, Dietitian

Zeynep Acar is a dietitian in the Nutrition & Diet unit at Acibadem International Hospital in İstanbul, with a subspecialty focus in Functional Medicine. Her professional interests include longevity nutrition, metabolic and bariatric surgery nutrition, fitness and sports nutrition, oncology and psycho-oncology nutrition, nutritional support, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and food supplements. She has worked within Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2022.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Faculty of Health Sciences (2018–2022), graduating first in both her department and faculty. Her further studies at the same university include a thesis-based master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Health Sciences Institute (2022–2025) and a double major bachelor’s program in Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (2019–2026). She also holds an associate degree in Health Institutions Management from İstanbul University Faculty of Open and Distance Education (2019–2021). Her continuing education includes Longevity Dietitian Training from the Gastroenterology Dietetics Association (2026); Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Dietetics Training (2025), the Dietary Supplements Certificate Program for Health Professionals (2024) and Applied Sports Nutrition Training (2022) from ASEGEM; the Fitness Nutrition Specialization Certificate Program of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2025); the Psycho-Oncology (Working with Cancer Patients and Their Relatives) Skills Development Training and Supervision Program of the Psycho-oncologists Association (2024); Psychology and Nutrition in Oncology Training from the Turkish Cancer Association (2022); and Psychological First Aid Training from Mental Health Association Kim Psychology (2022). She is a member of the Clinical Enteral Parenteral Nutrition Association (KEPAN).

Clinical focus

Zeynep Acar provides dietary assessment and nutrition planning across several clinical settings. In longevity nutrition, her work relates to dietary approaches within a broader health and wellbeing framework. In metabolic and bariatric surgery nutrition, she is involved in the dietary side of care for patients undergoing weight-related surgical treatment, where nutritional planning is coordinated with the treating surgical team.

Her oncology and psycho-oncology nutrition work addresses the dietary needs of patients with cancer and takes into account the psychological aspects of eating during treatment. She also works in nutritional support, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, and advises on the use of food supplements. For active individuals, her fitness and sports nutrition training informs dietary guidance related to exercise and physical performance. Recommendations are individualized and depend on each patient’s diagnosis, treatment plan and overall clinical picture.

How Zeynep Acar works with international patients

Zeynep Acar consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. The hospital’s international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options, which in a nutrition setting usually includes a review of current eating habits, relevant laboratory results and any ongoing medical treatment. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling or to follow up after a visit.
