Cihan Uras MD, is a world-renowned general surgeon who specializes in the treatment of breast cancer, with over 35 years of experience. Following his residency in general surgery at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine in 1986, he has been at the forefront of pioneering developments in breast cancer treatment in Türkiye. Professor Cihan Uras’s contributions include groundbreaking procedures such as the first mastectomy and simultaneous breast implant surgery, first sentinel lymph node biopsy, and first single-dose intraoperative radiotherapy following breast-conserving surgery. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in introducing laparoscopic surgery to Türkiye in the early 1990s. Currently serving as the Chairman of the General Surgery Department at Acıbadem University School of Medicine and director of the Acıbadem University Senology Institute, Dr. Uras leads a comprehensive breast care team at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital. Over the last 5 years alone, the institute has provided breast cancer treatments to nearly 3,000 patients from more than 20 countries.
