Acıbadem International may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support selected parts of the editorial and creative process. This page explains where AI assists our teams, where it never decides, and the safeguards that apply — in line with our Editorial Policy.
Where AI assists
- Generating ideas and content outlines.
- Research support: gathering and organising material from reputable clinical sources for our writers and editors.
- Drafting support: preparing first drafts against structured clinical briefs, which humans then edit and verify.
- Improving readability and simplifying complex medical explanations.
- Suggesting headlines, summaries and digital content formats.
- Translation support: helping our multilingual teams adapt content, with human review of medical terminology.
- Creating or assisting with the creation of illustrative visual content.
- On-site tools: interactive planners and calculators clearly labelled as indicative and informational.
Where AI never decides
- AI does not diagnose, does not recommend individual treatment, and does not produce quotes or medical opinions about your case — those come only from licensed clinicians reviewing your records.
- AI output is never published without human editorial control, and medical claims pass clinical review under our Medical Review Board process — review approvals are given by clinicians only.
- Your consultation, second-opinion and treatment-plan communications are prepared by our human medical and coordination teams.
AI tools do not replace medical expertise, clinical judgment or professional editorial review. Health information developed with the support of AI is subject to the same editorial and medical review standards as all other content published by Acıbadem International.
AI-Generated Images, Patient Privacy and Copyright
We may use AI-generated or AI-assisted illustrations in certain articles and digital materials. One important reason for doing so is to help protect patient privacy and confidentiality: instead of using identifiable patient photographs or clinical images where they are not necessary, AI-generated illustrations allow us to visually explain a medical topic without exposing a real patient's identity or personal health information. AI-generated imagery may also be used when appropriate to reduce the risk of using third-party visual materials that could be subject to copyright or licensing restrictions.
When AI-generated images are used:
- They are intended primarily for educational and illustrative purposes.
- They should not be interpreted as photographs of actual Acıbadem patients unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- We do not intentionally use identifiable patient data, photographs or confidential medical information as prompts for generative AI systems without an appropriate legal basis, authorization and applicable safeguards.
- AI-generated medical illustrations are reviewed when necessary to reduce the risk of inaccurate, misleading or anatomically inappropriate representations.
- AI is not used to fabricate clinical results, patient outcomes, diagnostic images or scientific evidence.
Where appropriate, we may indicate that an image has been generated or enhanced using artificial intelligence.
Guiding principles
Our use of AI is guided by the same principles that govern all of our health communication: medical accuracy, transparency, patient confidentiality, data protection and respect for intellectual property rights.
