Not in a way that offsets a chronically salty diet. Healthy kidneys do excrete excess sodium in urine, and adequate hydration supports that normal process, but drinking extra water doesn’t grant a pass on high intake — the blood pressure effects of habitual excess sodium accumulate regardless. Sustained high intake keeps blood volume and vessel pressure elevated between all those glasses of water. The evidence-supported approach is reducing intake at the source, not diluting it afterward.
