Prof. Aslı Aslan, MD

Prof. Aslı Aslan, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Kent Hospital (Izmir) in İzmir, where she works in the Pediatrics unit and provides care for infants, children, and adolescents. She has more than 28 years in medicine. Her clinical work covers healthy child follow-up, newborn monitoring, childhood infections, nutrition concerns, anemia, constipation, urinary incontinence, and upper respiratory tract illnesses.

Dr. Aslan graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and completed her pediatrics training at İzmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital in 2003, where she continued to work as a pediatrics specialist until 2008. From 2008 to 2021 she worked in the Department of Pediatrics at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, first as a specialist and, from 2017, as an associate professor. In 2021 she moved to the Department of Pediatrics at İzmir Ekonomi University, where she held the position of associate professor and, from 2023, professor. Dr. Aslan follows children from the newborn period through adolescence. In the first weeks of life, her work includes newborn follow-up, newborn screening tests, and the treatment of newborn jaundice. For infants, she assesses and manages infant colic and lactose intolerance, and she evaluates pediatric nutrition disorders when feeding or growth is a concern. Preventive follow-up of child and adolescent health is a regular part of her practice.

She also diagnoses and treats common childhood conditions, including upper respiratory tract infections and other pediatric infectious diseases. Children with iron deficiency and anemia, pediatric constipation, or pediatric urinary incontinence are assessed on an individual basis, with attention to the child’s age, history, and overall health. Where a condition requires input from another specialty, she works within the hospital’s pediatric and wider clinical teams.

How Dr. Aslan works with international patients

Dr. Aslan consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as ultrasound or X-ray reports, laboratory results, and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing test results and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the options with the family. Video consultations are available for international patients who wish to discuss their child’s case before traveling or as part of follow-up.
