Aziz Pak, MD

Aziz Pak, MD is an Emergency Service physician at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul. He has more than 22 years in medicine, and his clinical interests include trauma, emergency interventions, environmental emergencies, drowning, acute hypoxia, airway obstruction, bee stings, and tick bites. He is a member of the Turkish Medical Association and consults in Turkish and English.

Dr. Pak graduated from Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2004. From 2011 to 2013 he worked in the Emergency Department of Bezmialem University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. In 2013 he moved to Acibadem Fulya Hospital, and in 2017 his role continued within Acıbadem Healthcare Services, where he remains active in emergency service practice.

Clinical focus

Dr. Pak’s work centers on the assessment and management of acute conditions that present to the emergency service. His areas of expertise include trauma and emergency interventions, in which the first priorities are identifying life-threatening problems, stabilizing the patient, and deciding on the next step of care. Breathing-related emergencies form another part of his focus, including acute hypoxia and airway obstruction, where timely evaluation of oxygenation and the airway guides treatment.

He also has a particular interest in environmental emergencies. These include drowning and related complications, as well as bee stings and tick bites, which may range from local reactions to more serious presentations that require observation, medication, or further investigation. In each case, management depends on the patient’s history, the findings of the clinical examination, and the results of any tests that are considered necessary at the time of presentation.

How Dr. Pak works with international patients

Dr. Pak consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling or to follow up after treatment; however, acute emergencies require in-person assessment, and a video consultation does not replace urgent care.
