Dt. Bensu Buket Yel

Dt. Bensu Buket Yel is a dentist in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem Bakirkoy Hospital in İstanbul. Her clinical work is centered on prosthetic dental treatment, with a particular focus on total dentures and partial dentures for patients who have lost some or all of their natural teeth. She joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2026.

Dt. Yel completed the Dentistry Undergraduate Program at İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry between 2015 and 2020, receiving her dentistry degree in 2020. In 2021 she began the İstanbul University Health Sciences Institute Department of Prosthetic Dentistry Doctoral Program, which is ongoing. From 2021 to 2026 she worked as a doctoral student in the Total-Partial Prostheses Clinic of the İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, where her training included clinical applications with patients. In 2022 she also practised as a dentist at Güngören Oral and Dental Health Center (ADSM).

Clinical focus

Dt. Yel’s area of expertise is prosthetic dental treatment, the branch of dentistry concerned with replacing missing teeth and restoring the function and appearance of the mouth. Within this field she concentrates on removable prostheses. Total dentures are considered for patients who have no remaining natural teeth in the upper or lower jaw, or in both. Partial dentures are an option for patients who have lost some teeth but retain others that can help support the prosthesis.

Planning a denture generally begins with an assessment of the patient’s oral health, the condition of any remaining teeth and the supporting tissues, and the patient’s expectations regarding chewing, speech and appearance. Dt. Yel’s doctoral training and her clinical practice in the Total-Partial Prostheses Clinic have been directed toward this type of treatment. The suitability of a total or partial denture, and the expected course of treatment, can only be determined after an individual clinical examination, and the approach is adapted to each patient’s situation.

How Dt. Yel works with international patients

Dt. Yel speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who prefer another language. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as dental X-rays, CT reports and records of previous dental work, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination of the mouth and remaining teeth, and a discussion of the possible options, including whether a total or partial denture may be appropriate. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before travelling; a definitive treatment plan still depends on an in-person examination.
