Betül Yıldızlı, Audiologist

Betül Yıldızlı is an audiologist working in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit at Acibadem Kartal Hospital and Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul. Her work centers on hearing assessment for children and adults, including audiometry and BERA (ABR) testing, and she has more than seven years of experience in this field.

She completed her training at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Vocational School of Health Services in 2019 and went on to graduate from Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2023. She has been working in clinical audiology since 2019, and her practice combines these two hospital sites in İstanbul, where she carries out hearing evaluations for patients referred from the ENT unit and other departments.

Clinical focus

Betül Yıldızlı’s clinical interests include hearing loss in adults and pediatric hearing loss. She performs audiometry, which measures how well a person hears sounds at different pitches and volumes, and BERA (ABR) testing, an objective test that records the response of the hearing nerve and brainstem to sound. BERA (ABR) testing does not require the patient to respond actively, which makes it useful for infants and young children, as well as for adults who cannot take part in behavioral testing. How Betül Yıldızlı works with international patients

Betül Yıldızlı speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who prefer another language. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as previous hearing test results, MRI or CT reports, laboratory results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing test results and previous treatments, a clinical examination and hearing assessment, and a discussion of the findings and possible options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their hearing concerns or existing test results before deciding whether to travel, with the understanding that audiometry and BERA (ABR) testing themselves must be carried out in person.
