Cihan Seyyah works in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Acibadem Bağdat Outpatient Clinic in İstanbul. His practice focuses on pain management, movement disorder treatment, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. He has more than 30 years of experience in physical therapy and rehabilitation.

He graduated from Hacettepe University School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in 1996. He began his professional career at Antalya Physical Therapy Center (1996–1997) and subsequently worked at Maltepe Kızılay Medical Center (1999–2000), İstanbul Physical Therapy Center (2000–2001) and İzmit Kızılay Medical Center (2001–2003). He has been with Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2003.

Cihan Seyyah’s clinical interests cover a range of pain-related and movement-related conditions. He works with patients who have chronic muscle pain, fibromyalgia, and back, neck and low back pain, including spinal pain and disc herniations. His approach to pain management is centered on assessing pain, mobility and function and planning rehabilitation around the patient’s needs. He also treats piriformis syndrome, frozen shoulder, and muscle and nerve disorders, and uses manual therapy as part of his rehabilitation work.

In the area of sports medicine and sports traumatology, he provides rehabilitation for knee and joint injuries. His work in movement disorder rehabilitation includes Parkinson’s rehabilitation, where the emphasis is on maintaining mobility and daily function. In each case, the treatment plan follows a clinical assessment and takes into account the patient’s history, previous treatments and current physical status.

How Cihan Seyyah works with international patients

Cihan Seyyah speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who need them. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination focused on pain, mobility and function, and a discussion of the rehabilitation options that may be considered. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling; whether it is suitable depends on the individual case, and a physical examination may still be required in person.
