Assoc. Prof. Cüneyt Göçmez, MD

Assoc. Prof. Cüneyt Göçmez, MD is a neurosurgeon at Acibadem Kayseri Hospital in Kayseri, where he works within the Neurosurgery unit. He then carried out his compulsory service at Nevşehir State Hospital Neurosurgery Clinic (2006–2008) and worked as a specialist at Private Tekden Hospital, Kayseri (2008–2009), followed by a period in the Department of Neurosurgery at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (2009–2010). Between 2009 and 2015 he held academic posts in the Nöroşirurjii Department of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, first as assistant professor (Yrd. Doç. Dr.) and from 2014 as associate professor (Doç. Dr.). He subsequently practiced as an associate professor at Kayseri Memorial Hospital (2015–2018) and Medical Palace Hospital (2018–2020) before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2021.

Clinical focus

Dr. Göçmez evaluates and treats conditions affecting the brain, the pituitary gland, the spine and the spinal cord. His areas of expertise include brain tumors, pediatric brain tumors and pituitary disorders. In pediatric neurosurgery, he assesses children with neurosurgical conditions and discusses the possible approaches with families.

A further part of his practice is spinal surgery. He sees patients with cervical and lumbar disc herniation, cervical spinal canal stenosis and lumbar spinal canal stenosis, as well as spine and spinal cord tumors. Whether surgery is appropriate, and which technique may be considered, depends on the individual findings, symptoms and imaging, and is decided after a clinical assessment.

How Dr. Göçmez works with international patients

Dr. Göçmez consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
