Prof. Deniz Gökalp, MD

Prof. Deniz Gökalp, MD is an Internal Medicine physician at Acibadem Eskisehir Hospital in Eskişehir, where his clinical work centers on endocrinology and metabolic diseases. He remained on the staff of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine until 2010, then served as Associate Professor at Sivas Numune Hospital (2010–2012), Özel Seyrantepe Hospital (2012–2013) and Memorial Dicle Hospital (2013–2015) before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2015. He is a member of Türkiye Diyabet Vakfı, the Turkish Medical Association and the Turkish Endocrinology and Metabolism Association. His published research includes work on Sheehan’s syndrome, lipid changes in overt and subclinical hypothyroidism, the prevalence of celiac disease in patients with diabetes mellitus, and the regulation of glucose homeostasis.

Clinical focus

Dr. Gökalp assesses and treats patients with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Diabetes care in his practice involves reviewing the patient’s history and existing laboratory results, discussing treatment options and planning follow-up; the specific approach depends on the individual clinical picture.

He also treats thyroid disease, including conditions such as hypothyroidism, and evaluates patients with pituitary disorders, an area reflected in his research on Sheehan’s syndrome.
